SOLD OUT!
Into the Mystic 2026: The Intuitive Stitch
SOLD OUT!
Join Elizabeth for a delicious day of mindful stitching as we create a folded cloth book. Inspired by the resourcefulness and artful simplicity of
the Kantha tradition, we will be stitching together narrow strips of contrasting fabrics.
One of the reasons that Kantha is a point of inspiration for this class is that it is a centuries old technique that layers recycled fabric with decorative stitches. Most often the stitches used are in parallel lines but it is not uncommon to see Kantha textiles created with quite intricate stitch patterns, as well.
This process-oriented class is all about following your intuitive prompts as you choose color combinations, patterns and stitches to create a folded cloth book that is uniquely yours.

STITCHED MANDALAS
SUNDAY JUNE 1ST, 2025
SOLD OUT!
SUNDAY JUNE 1ST, 2025
SOLD OUT!
I’m thrilled to share details for this year’s Spring/Summer stitching workshop,
“Stitched Mandalas”. I have been musing, journaling, and stitching for this
class for quite some time and its finally time to offer it.
A mandala, as you may know, finds its roots in Buddhist, Hindu tradition.
Spiritual in nature, a mandala may take form in many ways: from being drawn in
a circular, symmetrically balanced fashion using natural elements in sand,
on paper, or on cloth using various media. In this process-oriented workshop,
I will guide you to create your own unique, personal mandala through stitch with
threads, fibers, and fabrics. Attached are photos of my workshop sample in progress.
Speaking of fabric, our base cloth is a gorgeous length of natural colored 100% linen.
This generous amount of fabric allows you to ultimately expand your design
into a pillow, table runner or wall hanging, if you desire.

Threads on Threads (Spring 2024)
SOLD OUT!
SOLD OUT!
I just saw over a dozen Robin Red Breasted birdies running around in neighborhood yards and was instantly reminded how the first day of meteorological Spring 2024 is on March 1st! Us Northeasterners will be definitely hankering to pull out our lighter weight clothing from storage soon! And with that in mind, I present to you, “Threads on Threads”, my new and upcoming Spring Workshop. I’ve attached a few photos of my stitched samples to the bottom of this email for inspiration.
On that day we will begin our day with a special guided meditation to ease us into our day of making. Next there will be a brief warm up activity to get your creative juices flowing. Then after sharing many of my sample stitched garments, I will demonstrate a range of embellishing possibilities from adding sweet, simple elegant stitches to a neckline to more elaborate treatments using layered fabrics and trims onto both knits and wovens. We will use the rest of the day to begin work on your pieces.

Stitched Strip Stories (Spring 2022)
SOLD OUT!
SOLD OUT!
Spring has arrived and since Summer will be cruising right up behind her, I’m so excited to offer this new hand stitching workshop, “Stitched Strips Workshop”! The inspiration for this workshop bubbled up from a trip Hubs and I took to visit our daughter in her new state of residence, California. It was an incredible week jammed packed with motoring up and down the coastline, taking in new places, sights and visiting family and friends. I took loads of photos, journaled, and stitched daily.
While packing for this adventure, I envisioned a Cali color story filled with greens, yellows, blues, and grays. And so, my project bag contained lengths of natural muslin, dyed linen, assorted fibers, and some small fabric bits in these colors. And “wow”, was I blown away when I noticed so many shades of these colors in the vegetation, water, flora, mountains and more. As there was much to document, I decided to create a series of stitched fabric strips that were distinct but cohesive. One strip is quite literal with stitched words, dates, names, and images. The second is a stitched collage of fabric scraps depicting the vibrancy of the landscapes and the third is a sweet, layered stitched strip that I am using to tie around my trip journal. These three strips showcase different ways to infuse your stitched compositions with color, texture, and depth. What keepsakes! I will hang them as garlands to remind me of this memorable trip.
All the elements involved in this making process, the imagining, the photography, and the stitching felt connective, restorative, and intentional. Now every time I look and touch these stitched strips, I am reminded of all the good feels from this trip! Sufficient to say, these strips will serve as samples to inspire as you begin recounting something personally memorable and stitch worthy: a trip, a dream, a meal made, a book you read, a movie watched or any other special experience. We will begin the workshop with a little journaling to get your thoughts and creative juices flowing. Next, you’ll enjoy rooting through the plentiful supply of fabrics and fibers available to begin designing your own unique series of strips. Then I’ll demonstrate the collaging and layering of fabrics and different stitches you may use in your stitched strips. There will be plenty of opportunity for you to stitch quietly and independently as well as to enjoy stitching with the group in community. Lastly as a special treat I will have a pot brewing on the side to dye fabric bits for later use in your creations.
